Liposuction Cost
Factors that Influence Cost
Many factors determine the final cost of liposuction. These can include the patient’s size and weight, the surgeon’s time and effort, anesthesiologist’s services, operating room and preoperative laboratory fees and post-op fees like compression garments and prescription drugs.
Costs also vary according to a surgeon’s experience and location.

Global Fee
Some surgeons give a global fee quote to patients who haven’t had a consultation. This is an estimate of surgical, non-surgical and anesthesiologist fees in one lump sum. Be sure to ask if the quote you’re given is a surgeon’s fee or a global fee.
Itemized Fees
Other surgeons quote an itemized list of all expected costs for their specific procedure. Again, these usually include surgical and non-surgical expenses, anesthesiology and post-op items like compression garments or antibiotics.
Itemized fees are given when the operating surgeon does not control the related expenses like anesthesiology or operating room services. Itemized fees are also given when more than one procedure is performed.
Telephone Estimates
Except for rare cases, it’s impossible to give an accurate estimate before a consultation. Be sure to get a detailed, written estimate for your procedure. You should be wary of surgeons who are not honest and open about all possible fees.
Liposuction Financing and Loans
Private finance companies offer loans to cover the cost of liposuction. You can also pay for your procedure with a credit card. Of course, going into debt for a cosmetic procedure requires careful consideration.
